WHEN IS FIRE DETECTION MANDATORY

The Building Fire Protection Regulation (Presidential Decree 41/2018) defines when a fire detection system is legally required — it is not an optional extra.

Category B

Requires a fire protection certificate from the competent Fire Service within 50 days of the business operation notification.

Category C

Covers higher-risk facilities. Requires study approval and a certificate before the operation notification is submitted.

The requirement applies regardless of size to hotels, hospitals, public assembly spaces, offices, industrial facilities, educational institutions, entertainment venues and enclosed parking areas. ATELECTRO GROUP handles the proposal, supply and installation of the fire detection system, and coordinates the study, submission to the competent Fire Service and complete certification together with a certified engineer.
